Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hareword's document translation service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hareword regarding your use of the Service.

2. Service Description

Hareword provides an AI-powered document translation service that:

  • Translates office documents (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT)
  • Integrates with SmartCat's translation platform
  • Uses Google Gemini AI for translation processing
  • Preserves document formatting and structure
  • Supports multiple target languages per project

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk) to use the Service. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use

3.2 Account Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into contracts
  • One person or entity may not maintain multiple free accounts

4. Subscription Tiers and Usage Limits

Our Service offers three subscription tiers:

4.1 Free Tier

  • 50 translations per month
  • Maximum 5 MB per project
  • Maximum 3 files per project
  • Up to 2 target languages per project

4.2 Professional Tier

  • 500 translations per month
  • Maximum 50 MB per project
  • Maximum 20 files per project
  • Up to 10 target languages per project

4.3 Enterprise Tier

  • Unlimited translations (fair use policy applies)
  • Maximum 500 MB per project
  • Maximum 100 files per project
  • Up to 50 target languages per project

Exceeding your tier's limits may result in service interruption until the next billing cycle or upgrade.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Upload malicious files or content that violates any laws
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits or security measures
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Share account credentials with unauthorized users

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents and content you upload. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Process your documents for translation
  • Store documents temporarily as needed for the Service
  • Transmit documents to our third-party providers (SmartCat, Google)

6.2 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and technology, is owned by Hareword and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Billing

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

7.2 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as displayed on our pricing page. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees due.

7.3 Failed Payments

If payment fails, we may suspend your access to paid features until payment is received.

8. Service Limitations and Disclaimers

8.1 Translation Accuracy

While we strive for high-quality translations, we do not guarantee:

  • 100% accuracy of translations
  • Suitability for specific professional or legal purposes
  • Preservation of all formatting in complex documents

You should review all translations before use, especially for critical documents.

8.2 Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance and unforeseen issues may cause temporary unavailability.

8.3 Third-Party Services

Our Service depends on third-party providers (SmartCat, Google, Railway). We are not responsible for their service interruptions or changes.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
  • WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hareword, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your content or documents

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. Termination does not entitle you to refunds for unused subscription time.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
  • Fail to pay fees when due
  • Abuse the Service or other users

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data after 30 days.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

12.1 Governing Law

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

16. Special Provisions for Enterprise Users
